Out of about 530 listings for 1957, some 210 are in November alone. Activity is centered around the height of the Taurids meteor shower. Some misidentifications are likely, in spite of efforts to filter out junk sightings. Active areas include the Southern California desert, Indiana, Northern New Jersey and Massachussetts. Los Angeles, CA and Levelland Texas are two hot-spots, both at the same latitude but a thousand miles apart. Entire states were left untouched in 1957.
