Circle Sites Taken Down

Fans of Sherlock Holmes novels will be familiar with the concept of the "dog that didn't bark", that is: at times evidence you don't have or can't get shows you the answer to a difficult puzzle. In exploring all possibilities, we might wonder if web sites get censored if they get close to an answer. The following were dead links on 2/9/03 that were active on 6/15/02. Probably not useful info, because there are many possible reasons for web pages being taken down. ( This page itself was taken down for reorganization for a time. ) Still, in case some find it interesting, here are 27 sites now defunct:
