Unlike the Pacific, North Atlantic sightings do not closely follow air and sea lanes. In places, sightings are so dense that the coastlines mapped in yellow seem almost superfluous. The *U* database's "rotation" feature ( not shown here ) adds and removes sightings sequentially. It is interesting to watch activity shift back and forth between the new world and the old.
