For forty years the government denied Area 51 existed. The DOD finally had to claim Area 51's existence due to a lawsuit involving the base. Area 51 uses chemicals and fibers that are classified. To keep the Environmental Protection Agency from learning what those chemicals are the heads of Area 51 decided to burn the waste chemicals in open pits. The deadly chemicals eventually killed several of the workers ordered to dispose of them. The worker's widows sued the base, but the case was sealed and it ended when Clinton signed a waiver exempting the base from Federal and local laws. During the proceedings the Air Force finally admitted to the base's existence.

A Gunfight? UFOs Have Landed!?

After trying to use the milky way to determine directions and watching a few lights from military aircraft just above the mountain range to the west, I moved to a new location, this time facing just a hair west of due south.

From my map, I'd concluded that this was where Area 51 UFO's would originate.

I was quickly distracted, however, by some activity along the ET Highway to the northwest. A car had driven out there, then turned off its lights.

Now there was a powerful searchlight moving along the ground originating from the location of the stopped car.

I could barely make out some figures in the light. There were at least two. I hid behind the rusting frame of a truck and took some long exposure pictures.

Then came the first gun shot!

My mind was racing... somebody must have learned TOO MUCH and they were taken out on the ET highway and rubbed out!

I might be a murder witness! It could be the MEN IN BLACK.

I ducked further behind the truck and tried to get some better photos. The light then swung deliberately towards my location.

A second gunshot rang out!

Believing that I was hidden by the darkness, I pushed my camera to the limit, trying to get a picture of the mysterious light which was the source of the shots.
