6/3/2005 Magic. Meet Mentalist JASON SCOTT, He Knows Your Thoughts.
"Most people seem to like when I bend their coins, but my favorite effects are when I predict people's thoughts. I like to give people souvenirs. One way I do that is by taking their pocket change and seemingly making it melt with just my mind. Another fun thing I do is say out loud what people are just thinking. ... People scream all the time. The craziest reaction was when this guy thought I had some evil power, could control minds and punched me. But, no one has ever fainted, not yet anyway … " - 944
Disclosure: Jason Scott is a member of my extended family, although we have never met in person. Jason is "a frequent performer at "A list" celebrity events and private, underground parties, from Las Vegas to Los Angeles."
2/23/2004: Magic: (Blamepro ) Here is the secret of those X-ray glasses you've seen advertised. When you look through the hole, you are looking through a bird's feather glued over the eye holes. The feather breaks up the light and causes a double image. If you put your hand up to the glasses, it can look like you are seeing the bones in your hand.
Actually, you are seeking two overlapping images of your hand and where they overlap, the darker area looks like bones. The same will work with a pencil and it can look like you are seeing through the wood to see the graphite inside. These glasses can't really see through clothes, walls, etc., but you may have fun making people think they can.
8/6/03: Fun stuff: free magic tricks you can learn on line.
8/5/03: Rent David Blane Street Magic on DVD. Watch the levitation that he does with his back to the spectators. It is really freaky! In one clip, you can see his whole body as he lifts off about 6 inches from the ground. Here is are a few links about how it was done: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
"The Balducci levitation is really quite a simple technique where the magician raises his arms up by his sides and slowly appears to rise a few inches off the ground, before returning to earth quickly. The method involves positioning your audience about 8 to 10 feet away at a 45-degree angle. The magician needs to keep the audience small so they are within his field of sight. This is a very restrictive angle trick and it is essential that the angles are practiced, preferably in front of a mirror. The Balducci levitation involves pretending to float off the ground by going onto your tip toes on just one foot (the one furthest from the audiences view) while the nearest foot is raised a little off the ground. This looks fantastic as the foot on your tip toe is hidden by your trousers. This trick is all in the presentation and we all know that David Blaine knows how to present his tricks to an audience."
