3/28/2005 Alt Energy. Free Energy? "The Perendev magnet motor (google search) is claimed to be driven soley by permanent magnets in a particular configuration that includes proper shielding or directing of the
magnetic field. The output claimed for the scalable device's present configuration is 20 kW, (adequate to handle the peak load of most homes) attached to a generator. Perendev claims that the unit has been tested in independent laboratories and that no diminution of magnet strength is observed over time."
Okay, prove it. If such a thing worked, it would change the world almost overnight and you'd hear about it very quickly in the mainstream press. Buring gas and oil is so unhealthy and we all know it. Sorry to be cynical, but one expects delay after delay and excuse after excuse resulting in exactly zero working units being sold. I'd love to be wrong about this.
10/16/04 Alt Energy (pureenergysys) Zero Point Energy / Free Energy "...over unity (and its synonyms) are being mentioned in mainstream literature. Dr. Peter Graneau is getting 150% efficiency outputs and has been published in peer reviewed journals. [such as?] Pinto actually mentioned "free energy" in his abstract published in Physical Review Rev. B, 60 21, 1999 p. 4457. He uses micro lasers and nanotechnology to get huge improvements in the Casimer [sic Casimir] force (one Kilowatt per meter squared). Valone further mentioned that Feigle was the first physicist to use ZPE to satisfy energy conservation."
6/21/04 Alt Energy. Science mystery: Physicist R.A. Webb and coworkers magnetically induce electrical currents in tiny gold rings at the University of Maryland. The ring temperatures are low but not in the superconducting range. Magnetic induction of electricity is of course perfectly allowable in physics. What is not theoretically permitted is for tiny currents to persist long after the magnetic field has been turned off. The currents are small, only 10 -6 of an ampere; but, they are there, and they shouldn't be. (Lipkin, Richard, and Travis, John; "Electric Currents That Merely Flow," Science News , 149:126, 1996)
6/21/04 Alt Energy. Check out the ATMOS clock powered only by daily temperature changes. As long as the sun continues to shine each day, it will continue to run, or so they say.

5/19/04 Alt Energy Some believe dark energy is the same as or is related to zero-point energy. There are patents for extracting electical energy from "nothing" from space ... forever. The amounts are debated. Some say no useful energy will ever be obtained in this way. "The first Zero Point electromagnetic radiation energy patent was issued to Dr. Frank Mead on Dec. 31, 1996. Patent no. 5,590,031 made history as Dr. Mead of Edwards Air Force Base designed spherical receivers to access zero point electromagnetic radiation." - electrifyingtimes Also see: 6,477,028
4/26/04 Physics / Alt Energy (stardrive) Zero Point Energy is real energy that can be pulled out of thin air. Some say the amount is so small as to never be useful. Others, such as the MEG team ( US Patent 6362718 ) claim to have a working Longitudinal Scalar Electromagnetic device which gets "a
steady flow of 2.5 Kilowatts forever without the input of any fuel whatsoever." (!)
Another claim: the EDF Generator is "an exotic variant of the Faraday disk dynamo which produces electric power with no generated retarding torque by electrostatic induction and stimulated thermionic emission means."The people at Stardrive claim the device "may be the world's first self-sustaining over-unity power plant which taps the zero point energy on a large scale."
Finally, I also found an interesting claim that Westinghouse patented a technology that creates more energy than is put in. "A frequency converter using 64 transistor stages and similar sophisticated feedforward and feedback mechanisms was placed in the original Minuteman missile, then deliberately modified to stop its demonstrated COP > 1.0 performance. Very quietly, Westinghouse engineers then obtained several patents surrounding the technology, but no further mention of it appears in the literature."This could be a hoax or a misunderstanding, but if true, we would not need to fight over the last remaining oil. Instead, crazy religious people could hate each other and have wars using as much free energy as they wanted ... Seriously, if I had free energy, ( may be I do, may be I don't. ) I'd keep it very quiet. Why? Because it would be used as a weapon, of course. Are we ready as a species to stop killing each other?
