FLASHBACK: Read what I wrote about Rove being the leak in 2003, news that is just now coming out in 2005.
10/7/03: White House Scandal Summary: Joseph Wilson, a retired U.S. diplomat debunked the White House's key evidence that Saddam Hussein was rebuilding his nuclear program. Bush was shown to be a liar by Wilson since Bush said in his State of the Union address: "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." Days later conservative columnist Robert Novak cited "two senior administration officials" and stated that Wilson's wife, Valerie Plame, was a CIA operative who dealt with weapons of mass destruction. Outing Plame put her life and the lives of other agents at risk. It is also a felony. Wilson in a late August speech in Seattle said he suspected Karl Rove , President George Bush's closest political adviser. "Wilson told Democracy Now! , 'I have reason to believe that it was the political office that at a minimum confirmed it and the political office was Karl Rove...It was a reporter who told me it was Karl Rove and that's as far as I want to go right now.'" After quite a pause, the head of the CIA called for an investigation and Ashcroft is heading the investigation. Not only did Rove work for Ashcroft in the 80s, but "he was one of the main forces behind Ashcroft's controversial appointment to the job he currently holds, attorney general." Is this Rove-Ashscroft connection the reason no answers are coming out? Seeking a vast right-wing conspiracy? Woop, there it is.
