Well, this show was ok, but there was a fountain making a lot of noise and a PARADE for the UC Davis pic nic day a few feet away, so singing unamplified was difficult when there was an ENTIRE MARCHING BAND blowing. We got some good veggies though! Thanks to the Farmers Market! |
Saturday, 8:30-11:00 PM |
Luna's Cafe * 16th (near P Street) * Sacramento CA |
This show was a blast! Hence opened with some excellent original work, followed by Special guest Rachael Santos who rocked the house! Original alternative soul! A super special appearance of the King Bradley Fisher Group for one number was followed by Xenophilia (Minus Amy who was at Disney World in Florida). Xenophilia was joined on Bass by Fisher Mathew of the King Bradley Fisher group and on guitar by Kenny of The Bander_____! Some Cap Garage Open Mic Night Regulars were visible among the crowd of other Sacramentens. Xeno was approached after the show by an official Creative Arts representative and was encouranged to apply for a grant for his original work through the Sacramento Arts Council. |

PRIVATE SESSION * Working on our CD |
|
Saturday 8:30 PM |
Davis Community Church * Davis CA |
This was a fun and successful BENEFIT for Habitat For Humanity. We opened the show, followed by a barber shop quartet, Special Blend (Xeno liked their version of It's a Wonderful World), Natalie Cortez and the Ultraviolets (wonderful as always, and they have a great new song), and Akimbo (so fun to dance to!). For our show we set up an overhead projector and had a volunteer kid from the audience play with paints and rubber lizards in a Plexiglas dish on top of the projector. This set up projected interesting images above the band while we performed. We also pre-placed wood blocks under everyone's seats and had the audience participate rhythmically. Very fun night. *** |
Saturday 9:00 AM - Noon |
Davis Farmer's Market * Davis CA |
Xeno solo among the veggies at the market. After singing for a crowd for 3 hours with no amplification in front of a noisy water fountain Xeno had a sore throat, but the free organic food was worth it (especially that interesting spicy potato thing!) |
Friday 9:00 PM |
The Stoney Inn * 1320 Del Paso Blvd. *927-6023 * Sacramento, CA |
Xeno makes a guest appearance and jams on some Beatles tunes with HENCE the Band, including the Bass Player for Funkengruven! *** |

Fun show with Jay Shayner and Mojo Filter. We gave out free harmonicas and the audience took several splendid harmonica solo's. (Yes, they got to keep them.) Thanks to our fans! You rock! |

Xenophilia caught the New Radical's show: Met Monica Lowe from The Zone, and spotted Raz from KWOD. Chatted for a while with Adam Cohen (son of Leonard Cohen) and Peter who opened the show. Peter recommends the Opium Den and the Viper Room in LA. |
