Astonding show. Tate had purple hair and eyebrows for this one. We entertained about 300 people for 3 hours. A Davis Farmer's Market official said we were "really good, I mean *really* good." Other comments were, "You guys are going to go somewhere, I mean it, I can tell." (Hear that Warner Brothers?) The Steve's Pizza Guy gave us 3 boxes of FREE PIZZA! Thanks! The mysterious bread lady asked us to play a private party...then she vanished! Then, suddenly, one sentence DIDN'T end with an exclamation mark.

Capitol Garage Open Mic Night - Downtown Sacramento CA

We played after GROTO (excellent band), and were told by our open mic night host that we made open mic night history: It was the first time he could remember seeing people dancing in the audience during an open mic performance. This happened to us at another open mic as well. The swing dancers were mesmerizing as we played our hit, "Cafe of Love".

Thursday,
July 23, 1998

5:30 - 7:30 PM

Open Air Market - K Street, Downtown Sacramento CA

After playing this show, run by Kevin Seconds of the band Go National, we were hanging out at the HardRock Cafe. There, some guy came up and offered us a European Tour. He'd toured with Montrose (Ronnie). He gave us his lawyer's number. This really happened.
